Special for you

Being an entrepreneur you tend to look upto people who are ahead of you in so many ways. This applies to many other ways of in life. Most of the time we either idolise or hate on these people… But today the Lord has put a special message in my heart.

Maybe your out there seeing people starting things and going ahead of you, who are outrunning you and even get to the destination you have been wanting. I want us to look at today’s verse; Mary Magdalene had gone to the tomb after Jesus had died, when she got there she realised it was open so she went to get the disciples. She thought Jesus’ body had been taken away.

Peter and other disciples came running and Although they all had started running at the same point Peter was out run. Perhaps it’s because He didn’t want to have to meet Jesus if He was still in the tomb; mind you he had denied Him 3 times…most of us have denied Gods involvement in our lives or our various livelihood, we have most probably praised our own efforts not that of God… And dread if we should meet him … We will just be like ” Hey God what hahapened was…. ” just as Peter may have been preparing to say… At best I would have told the rest to go & I can wait for them Incase they find Him… Haha the shame he must have had… But he still run to see if Jesus was there… Perharps your running on toward to see if by chance you have actually been called to this…

Okay so He got outrun, and so the others get there, and all they see are linens… Yes those you started with have most likely made it to where you all envisioned to be… But you see in the Text that although Peter had betrayed Jesus, He had probably lost all chance of being worthy of being with Jesus again… He was the only one who saw the folded napkin that suggested that  Jesus must have taken the time to fold the napkin… Meaning He didn’t quite leave the tomb in a hurry… Notice although the other disciples got there before Peter, He was the only one who saw this sign… God has preserved a new idea for you… Especially for you to see… Even if you have not been faithful to Him; the word of God states that in 2 Timothy 2:13 that β€œIf we are faithless [do not believe and are untrue to Him], He remains true (faithful to His Word and His righteous character), for He cannot deny Himself.” So don’t be discouraged by the fact that they are already ahead of you in their grades, marketing strategy, pay grade…. God has left a special idea in the tomb that He makes a womb that will bear your special purpose.

All you have to do is don’t stay back, don’t be ashamed to go back to the King, Even if you don’t find His Body, you will find His spirit lingering and and your sign/instruction/breakthrough left for your eyes only, at the perfect timing of the Lord.

Lady Boss Chronicles

Appearance matters a lot! Well I had heard that statement before, however I never really related much to it. Recently following the launch of MyCoutureKenya ; my online shop, I have had to engage with different people as a business woman and well it has been a learning curve. I usually am well dressed…I like to think… however that’s not always enough. Sometime we have to dress the part!

A good example was when I casually dressed for business meeting with an owner of a brand we will be partnering with for vintage clothing… To all my vintage lovers heyyyy πŸ™ŒπŸΎ… And the person almost didn’t recognise me. That is when I thought wow ok I need to start dressing the part.

What do I mean? Well put some extra effort to dress the part… For example if you are going for a job interview or a business meeting…. Always always make sure you dress accordingly… I know my sunglasses are over the top in this case but hey dont you just feel the boss look from the good cat eyes πŸ™‚ … I think every lady should have a lady boss midi bodycon dress (not too tight) also a good lady boss comfortable heels! Remember very minimal accessories would do. These are definite wardrobe essential for any woman not only in the corporate sphere but also in any other occupational fields.

This outfit is a good example of a lady boss outfit; simple, classic but still boss ;). I thought I should start this series so I can share my new experiences a business woman especially in the fashion business and share with you guys and hopefully give you a few pointers here and there. The series will be weekly so keep your eyes peeled for them; leave any questions you would like to know on a lady boss outfit you have in your wardrobe below and I hook you up!

Style growth

Hey guys hope you have all been good? Well I have in the past few days been thinking about how my personal style has evolved over the years. Frankly speaking about two years ago, I cared very little about my style, however I admired others whose style I thought at the time was really good. At the time I was going through a lot of life lessons, like how to be myself and stop trying to be someone else, appreciating myself more… Other lessons included who were my real friends? … Such things at the time had made my self esteem go at an all time low. Let’s say fashion saved me…

I felt it was time to focus on my own self growth and stop forcing relationships with people who didn’t care for me as much as I did. So I decided to restart my wardrobe and started trying more in terms of my daily outfits to uni. This gave me something to focus on other than friends and other issues. Looking back now I feel that my style has grown at an almost similar extent as my self … Mentally… Sometimes something small as your passion (mine been fashion ) can keep you away from a lot of trouble or unnecessary drama.

This particular outfit is another mile stone… I never used to wear such bodycon dresses because I was conscious of my body particularly my tummy… But now am more comfortable in my skin. As usual you know I always like to layer my outfits with a pop of colour hence the rust red longline duster coat. It’s give the look a more sophisticated feel.

Hope you loved this reflective blog. My outfit is from My Couture Kenya Here or call/whatsapp to order on 0711243087.

My Couture Kenya: The Launch

In my last blog post, I mentioned that I was working on a project. Well, I am finally launching an online store for my fashion brand My Couture Kenya which I founded in 2014. Previously, I had been stocking our clothing at Kungara Kenya Only , which we still do.

However the brand is growing now and we want to cater to our customers better and give them a much required 24/7 shopping experience and delivery service. It has not been easy putting things together, however I had to Archieve this dream.

The collections are sourced from high street fashion brands based in the UK such as River Island to Missguided. I personally hand pick each item according to the demand of our very trend concious customers. The outfit in this and the next few blogs will be all from our current collections.  We will also stock some vintage items curated in Kenya and also venture in Men’s clothing very soon.

Our Style is Elegant Chic, trendy and both Runway, Celebrity not to mention Fashion Blogger inspired collections. We offer quality products that will suit most styles or even age groups.

The Cover

Hey guys! Hope you guys have been good? My week has been good so far. I have had some bumps and hiccups here and there but I have been able to push through. I know y’all are wondering why I choose ‘the cover’ to be the title of my post? Mmmmh… Well here is why I choose this particular title.

The human mind is created in such away that it helps us to sense any danger or even sense that someone is approaching you even before we see them through some technical biology ways that I might not be quite vast in. Once we see a person it comes almost natural to us what kind of a person that particular person is, even before you speak to them, you kind of have an idea of who they are and sometimes where he/she is from mostly depending on some distinct factors that vary from one to another.

I have heard the saying ‘never judge a book by its cover’ from when I was young and yes I have been in situations where I judged someone even before I spoke to them only to find they were the complete opposite but no this is not that ‘do not judge people ‘ lesson.

An incident took place this week to someone I know that made me think of my title ‘ the cover’ ( i will not go into detail about the incident). The incident in question made me think of what people see when they look at me? What is there first thought? Yes they might sometimes get the wrong impression of who I am, however most of the time we are to blame for some of the judgments that a place upon us. Why?

People will mostly judge you ( I think) 30% because of what you show them the rest because of what they have heard or just merely because of what they have been through. Anyways, my point is before you go complaining that people like to judgement you and they misunderstand you, first reflect on whether you gave them that impression?
